What are some good bmx bikes designed to withstand the skate park?
My son is turning 13 and I want to buy him a bmx for the skate park.. but I know alot of bmx bikes are not capable of withstanding the harsh bumping and grinding at the skate park. I dont want to spend over $600 if possible. Something available in western sydney would be great!

Try to get him a bike that has a 100% chromoly frame or a chromoly main frame (main frame is head tube, toptube, downtube, and seat tube) as chromoly is both lighter and stronger then Hi-Ten steel tubing of the same diameter and thickness.
Colony is a bmx company based out of Australia I believe.
FIT makes the FIT Park 2 and the PRK 3 and the FIT TECH 2.5
other companies to look into:
DK
Stolen
WTP (We The People)
Standard
Black Eye
Sunday (made by Odyssey)
Subrosa
Eastern
2-Hip
Kink
FBM
Macneil

Naw, basically any bike is alright for a skate park. If you want to save some weight, get aluminum pegs. Steel pegs are mainly used for street riding. Fit and Verde make nice park bikes, but they might be a bit out of your price range. Check danscomp.com
